10 Day Blog Challenge: Day 9-Two Emotions that Describe Your Life Right Now
Morning! I'm full of emotions right now. But if I had to pick the top two, it would be excitement. We are done with the final steps in purchasing our home, and go to closing in two weeks! And another emotion fear. I woke up this morning doubting a lot of things, one of them being my business. My husband of course was there to talk with me, and give me a swift kick in the butt, and tell me how many people love my work and support me. So again, a huge thank you to him. If it were not for him, I would not be able to keep my head on straight.

Sweet Charlotte Adventure-9 Months Old {Delaware Baby Photographer}
My sweet, adorable baby turned 9 months old on the 24th. Where has the time gone? She now stands up on her own, walks while holding on to furniture, climbs on things, climbs over there, expresses her dislike by yelling at me, and is becoming her own little person. It's amazing to watch her grow every single day. Before I know it, she will be one years old. She will be walking, then dating, then asking for the car, then going to college. I better stop before I start crying over here!
So for her 9 month-aversary, I wanted to get some new photos of her. Now admittedly, I photograph her all of the time. But I really wanted some fun photos for her. We put her in her new lace romper from Little Bits Chic, and her headband from Doll Baby Accessories, and *attempted* a photoshoot with her. With the help of my husband, I was able to get a few shots in. Let me tell you something, photographing my own child is completely different from photographing my clients children! Any who, I plan on getting a canvas of one of my favorite images of her for each month, and hanging them in her room. Enough of me babbling, here we go!

10 Day Blog Challenge: Day 8-Three Turn Ons {Delaware Wedding & Lifestyle Portrait Photographer}
Good morning, good morning! It's great to stay up late. Good morning, good morning to you! Clearly, I am in quite a musical mood today. But let's get to today's blog post challenge topic...three turn on's. I only get three, so I have to think carefully!
1) Intelligence. I can't help it, I love me a smart man. Or just smart person in general. I think intelligence is a great thing. And if we can hang out and have a nerd off about a particular topic, then you are awesome in my book. Hey, it's how my husband got me :) I totally went after his brains. Ok, that sounded a bit zombie-ish.
2) Style. I'm not talking about modern style also. I love historical fashions. So if you can rock the Victorian, Renaissance, or Mad Men look, another A+ in my book!
3) Genuine. I'm only 25, but have been through quite a lot in my time here on earth (that makes me sound like an alien!). But one thing I do love is a genuine person. There are so many people out there that are ready and willing to take advantage of you, who have the "what can you do for me?" attitude, that I ended up very guarded. It's nice and refreshing to meet someone who has such a genuine personality, that they just want to be there just to be there. Nothing in return except genuine friendship.
Ok folks, so what are your three turn on's?Pin It

10 Day Blog Challenge: Day 7-Four Turn Offs {Delaware Wedding & Portrait Photographer}
Yesterday was Memorial Day, so technically I was supposed to do today's blog post yesterday, but I wanted yesterday's post to focus on thanking those who have fought to serve and protect us. Again, a huge thank you.
Now onto today's blog post for Day 7. Four turn offs. Basically turn offs of any sort, not just when it comes to dating!
1) Malicious people. I really dislike people who have malicious intent in their heart, especially towards people who don't deserve it.
2) Bad hygiene. Enough said. I can't deal with the funk. Unless you are George Clinton.
3) Bad drivers! I may or may not have a slight case of road rage. But I seriously, seriously hate bad drivers. Those that drive 15 mph slower than the speed limit. Those that cut you off, just to drive slower. Those who come to a complete stop on an on ramp. Oy.
4) The Jersey Shore (tv show). Need I say more?
What are your turn offs? I would love to hear them, we can have a good laugh about it. But for now, I must return to editing photos, working, and being super mom to a very active 9 month old.Pin It

Memorial Day!
It's Memorial Day! Yay! Time for fun in the sun and bbq's. But while you are having all that fun, please take a minute and thank all of the soldiers, past and present, and even our future ones, who have fought and continue to fight for our freedoms. I have a lot of military in my family. My husband, my father and uncles, my brother who is no longer with us, my aunt, and friends too. I am so appreciative of the courage they have and the selflessness of what they do. Thank you. From the bottom of my heart.
Today is supposed to be Day 7 of the 10 day blog challenge, but I am going to do that tomorrow. And leave this strictly for thanking our service men and women.Pin It

10 Day Blog Challenge: Day 6-Five People Who Mean A Lot
Yay for Memorial Day weekend! I should be out enjoying BBQ's or something related to a pool, but first I am working, then I am packing, and then comes the fun stuff. So on to today's blog post: five people who mean a lot (in no particular order).
I am going to let you know right now that I am going to cheat and lump a few people together!
1) My husband Wes. Obviously. This man is my heart, and my best friend. Even before we were married, I could see us 50 years down the line, still laughing and having a good time. He supports me, he pushes me to be better because he knows that I can be better, he is just everything to me.
2) My daughter Charlotte. I was told that I couldn't have children. At the time, it was saddening, but I was young, so I didn't dwell on it too long. I was all about having fun and living life, children could wait. After being pregnant once and having one miscarriage, it devastated me. And I realized how badly I wanted a child. We weren't trying for children, but out of the blue, Charlotte came! I first saw her at 8 weeks old, a little tiny bean (hence her nickname) in my stomach. She was born perfectly healthy and adorable! She keeps me on my toes. Shows me that love is unlimited. And when she crawls to me saying "mama" and leans up for a hug or kiss, my heart melts.
3) My dog Sasha. Well she used to be my dog when I was younger, until we moved. She was my first and only dog. You know the saying "a boy and his dog". Yeah, Sasha was my very best friend, and I loved her so much. It has been years since we moved, and I haven't seen her in years, but I still think about my favorite and only dog.
4) My mom. Without her, I wouldn't be here. Enough said!
5) My grandmother. With her, I wouldn't have my mom, and I wouldn't be here! But seriously, I love my grandma. I stayed with my grandparents a lot when I was younger. Summer vacations, and all that. Traveled with them when they went down south, and was pretty much always there. I know it sounds weird, but my grandmother always reminded me of the matriarch elephant in a herd. Old and wise and always strong.
And...
5.5) My awesome friends!!! I love you with all of my heart :)Pin It

10 Day Blog Challenge: Day 5-Six Things You Wish You Had Never Done {Delaware Wedding & Lifestyle Portrait Photographer}
I'm in the middle of packing up the house for our move next month. And of course, I am easily distracted. I just wanted to hop on the computer, check a couple of emails, and hop back off. But then I realized that I should do the blog post now, because I am in for a busy day later. I still need to do product shots with my daughter Charlotte for a boutique called Doll Baby Accessories, and then I have a Love, Mom session later today. The weather is perfect! Warm, and sunny, and most importantly...not wet!
Ok, before I start rambling on. Let's get back to the task at hand. The blog challenge! This post may be a little bit more personal than the others. The topic is: Six Things You Wish You Had Never Done. Now I firmly believe that EVERYTHING happens for a reason. Whether it is good or bad. The universe has multiple paths and destiny's for you, and those paths intertwine based on your choices. So even though there are things that I WISH I never did, I am still glad I did them.
Here we go!!!
1) I wish that I never let Eddie go that day without telling him how I felt. It was a little school girl crush. We both liked each other, liked the same things, hung out. Well secretly hung out. It was almost out of a movie. Then one day, the last day that I saw him, he told me that he really liked me. It was cute. And then he moved, because he was foster child and placed in a different home with no say so, I never saw him again. I think it always stuck with me because of how fast things changed. One day we were hanging out, the next day he is miles away, and us being teenagers, of course we had no way of seeing each other.
2) I wish that I had never stayed quiet to the kids that picked on me in school. They needed to know that their words and actions were very hurtful and damaging. And maybe if I said something then could have turned out to be better people.
3) I wish I had never stopped playing piano. I am HORRIBLE at reading music, and even when I did play piano, I played my remembering the notes, not reading the actual music. If I would have stuck with it, I probably would be awesome!
4) I wish I had never stopped dancing. I loved to dance. Loved it. I used to dance in my room all the time, and took dance classes. I miss it.
5) I wish I had never...well I am actually drawing a blank here. I've been sitting here for about 10 minutes trying to figure out what to type. Well I actually know what to type, but I think it's a little too personal :) So I will leave it at that!
I hope you folks enjoy your weekend!!!!Pin It

Wonderful Wednesdays {Delaware Wedding and Portrait Photographer}
Guess who forgot to do Wonderful Wednesday again. It's not that I forget to write it, it's that I forget to write it o. Wednesday's! That's usually day I pack up the baby, run errands and visit with my family. Then I do remember by the time I get home, it's time for baby time!
Ok, so from now on, Wondeful Wednesdays will not be Womderful Wednesdays aka whichever day during that week I get to post it but here's hoping that I post it on Wednesday!
So what do I find wonderful this week?
New printing labs that are AWESOME! I know that this might not matter to most, but seriously...I love my new printing company. They shipped I ordered one day, got the images the next. Can we say fast?
Sonics Cocount Raspberry slush. It's not secret that I love Sonic, and for some reason I really love "blue" drinks. Apparently in the food industry blue=coconut. And I love me some coconut.
Thriving! I love going to thrift and antique stores and finding some great finds! I feel like those people on American Picker and those types of shows
STEAMPUNK! This weekend is the Steampunk Worlds Fair. Three words. It is EPIC. Three days of music,fun, dancing, amazing costumes, shopping, and friends. If you don't know what Steampunk is, think of movies like Sherlock Holmes (the one with Robert Downey Jr.). And Wild Wild West with Will Smith. Basically it's what Victorians would have envisioned the future like. I think everyone should go at least once. Even if you think you won't be interested, there's something for everyone. And of course I will be taking lots of pictures...well that's what I intend to do. I may be having too much fun to go into photographer mode!
Well folks, that's it. 4 hours till departure for the steampunk worlds fair, and we still have some last minute preparation to do.
Oh! Before I forget, today is my baby sisters senior prom. So class of 2012 Newark Highschool, have a great time!Pin It

Bohemian Styled Wedding {Delaware Wedding Photographer}
WHEW! That's one of the words that is describing what I am feeling right now. It took a lot to put this styled shoot together. It was bigger than anything that I have ever done before. And I am so thankful for those that donated their time and services, and am happy that it is done. I loved seeing my vision come to life!
I wanted to set up a bohemian themed wedding shoot. I wanted it to be carefree and fun. Full of laughter and fun. Bold colors, pretty details, just gorgeousness all around. I wanted to do something that I would have loved to have my wedding look like. It took a bit of time, a lot of phone calls and emails, but it finally came together. So now onto the round of thank you's
To my "wedding party": Josh & Katie (the groom and bride), Maya & Brenda (the bridesmaids), Alissa and Marisa (the flower girls..and their mom Laura for bringing them to the shoot on Mothers Day), Nick (the groomsman), Amanda (the wedding coordinator), Heather (the coordinator at Hagley), Dorian (made the hair pieces), Ciao Bella Cakes, Ericka (designed the invitations and menu cards) Melanie, Shannon and Barry (my sister and husband, they wrangled my daughter Charlotte while I shot), Ayo-Susan-Jenny (fellow photographers), and I believe that is it!!!
There was laughter and fun. Yummy sparkling cider. Pretty dresses with pretty flowers. A gorgeous cake. DELICIOUS CANDY! A kilt! Did I mention a kilt? Oh, and a bowler hat. And just all around awesomeness. Here you go!!!
Now onto the awesome vendors! Without them I wouldn't have been able to put this together!
