Jack's Bar Mitzvah {New York Lifestyle Event Photographer}

I will readily admit, this was one of the most fun events that I have ever covered. I've photographed weddings, I've photographed anniversaries and birthdays, and award ceremonies. This was amazing.  Plus the fact that I was able to pack the family into the car and travel to Kingston, NY to get there was another treat. I love traveling!

By the way, if you are up in that area, I HIGHLY recommend stopping by Roudigans Steakhouse.  They are absolutely delicious.  I can't even begin to describe how amazing the food was, but trust me, you won't regret.

So before I get hungry and go on and on about food.  Let's move on to Jack's Bar Mitzvah!

In a nutshell, the ceremony was fun! Singing and dancing, and love filled the air.  Formal pictures were a blast, especially with the whole Harmony House family.  Reception=a dream!  The Skytop restaurant has an amazing location and amazing food.  Doctor Who, an awesome DJ, Tardis cakes, tables named after worlds in Doctor Who, inflatable swords, more dancing, and just awesomeness all around.

Enjoy!

The Gibbons-Parker Family Longport Beach Session {Delaware, PA, and NJ Lifestyle Family Photographer}

You know how there is a defining moment in your life that happens just when you need it?  Well Beth and her family are one of the defining moments in my photographer career. When I first made my transition from weddings to just families, children, and birth, she answered a call I put out for birth clients. She didn't know me at all, but she trusted me.  I have since photographed her maternity session, her birth of her son Declan, Declans newborn session, and it has been an honor again to photograph the entire family again, including her parents, Connie and Steve.

This is one amazing family. So full of love and happiness. And I am so glad that I can call them friends.

Finding what makes it work {Delaware Lifestyle Baby & Family Photographer}

I have a tendency to randomly discuss life, and philosophy, and all sorts of other topics with my husband.  This morning, while lying in bed, we were discussing our future, which is something we always do.  His new job ventures, and my current journey as a photographer, hoping for another baby, things of that sort. And of course,while we were talking, he went on to tell me how in just a couple of years I am going to be world famous (he is so sweet), and how he is going to brag about how his wife is so awesome.

I, being the skeptical one laughed it off. But he was serious. And when I asked him why he told me this:

"There are a ton of people that take pictures, and thats cool.  And I see on your feed the cute babies curled up and posed, and thats cool too. And I see other photographers that get out there and capture real life. And that's the kind of stuff I like. Life as it happens.  Like a new dad holding his baby. And thinking that this is like the best toy, new dog, and new best friend rolled into one, and it's half of me!  There are two things I think of when I first look at a picture.  It can either be, oh, that's nice. Or, OH MY GOD I LOVE IT, because I feel something when I look at the photo.  You make OH MY GOD I LOVE it work"

So thanks to my husband, I will continue to make OH MY GOD I LOVE it work.

Charlotte's first trip to the beach!

This is more of a personal post (and I promise to do more, especially being that I am let into peoples home every day to photograph their family moments) for me!  The past couple of weeks have been filled with traveling and fun. The last weekend in June, we headed up to Kingston, NY (the home of Woodstock!) to photograph a friends sons Bar Mitzvah, and had a great time! Now, I am from Queens, NY, but barely traveled outside of my little NYC bubble until I moved to Delaware. So it was great to load into the car and travel,which is something that I always saw in my future.

Let me just say that Charlotte is the perfect road trip kid. She loves the wind in her hair, and stopping at rest stops, and the music and sing a longs in the car.  She is just amazing.

After the Bar Mitzvah, we packed up the car again, and headed down to Longport, NJ to photograph Beth (you may have remembered her maternity session, birth, and her son Declans newborn session), and hang out at their beach house.  The first day we got there, we went to Ocean City, and took Charlotte on the boardwalk (it was my first time on the boardwalk too!) and then to the beach.

She said "ocean!" when she saw the water. We didn't even know she knew that word.

She played in the sand, rubbed her feet in it. And then we took her closer to the water, and that's when the hilarity ensued.  But I have one thing better than typing it out, here is the actual video!

It was also her first time on a merry go round, and other carnival rides.  And the lights, oh, she loved the lights of the boardwalk when night time hit.

We will be taking her back very soon.

Josiah's Newborn Session {Delaware Lifestyle Newborn Photography}

Oh sweet little Josiah.  Such a  handsome little man.  Even though due to scheduling we were just outside of that prime newborn window (he was just over three weeks at the time of his session), he did wonderfully.  Any excuse to see a new baby,and I am good!

Also, let me tell you something about his family.  They are so loving and peaceful, it just moved me.  I loved watching the way his older sister interacted with him and his older brother Joshua, she is so tender and caring.  Everything from the way she held him to the way she tapped his pacifier to get him to be peaceful again, was just so amazing.

Peaceful.  It was the word that his mother kept using during our session.  And indeed it was just that.

Enjoy.

Nathans Newborn Session {Philadelphia Newborn Photographer}

I always say that word of mouth is the best form of marketing to me. And in this situation, it worked.  I photographed an awesome maternity session for Shimul, and then when she moved to North Carolina, she told her friend Dana about me.  Dana and her family then moved to Philadelphia, And that's how she found me!

Everyone, say hello to little Nathan!
