{Pin-up Session: Sarah}

So a few weeks back I talked about how I am going to take a hand at pin-up photography.  I adore pin-ups, and anything 1940's and 1950's related.  Before I cut my hair, I used to have it styled in victory rolls, and other vintage styles. And let's not even get into the clothing. I am slowly but surely acquiring a awesome collection of vintage clothing and accessories.

Well, I finally got to photograph my first PGP (pin-up guinea pig) yesterday, and I am so happy with the results.  I photographed the lovely Sarah B. (who is actually one of my brides and I am photographing her engagement session in November).  She was awesome and so easy to work with, and has a love of pin-ups equal to mine.  She even made a white bathing suit similar to the one that Kat Von D wore in one of her pictures.

So without further ado...here is Sarah!  The first of the Swinging Betties Pin-ups!

Oh! And I forgot to mention some exciting news!  Kathryn and Kens 10.23.10 wedding was recently featured on EmmalineBride!  I was super happy to see that, and it totally started my weekend off right!  Earlier today, I had an engagement shoot with an awesome and super sweet and fun couple, Amy and Matt.  I am about to run to edit some previews for those since the pictures turned out great, but I won't be posting them on my blog right away.  So to see the previews from their engagement session at Longwood Gardens, be sure to become a fan on facebook and check them out!

In the meantime, it is officially Halloween!  I have no idea what I am going to do today. But I do know that trick or treating and maybe karaoke is involved.  So have a safe and fun halloween!

{Have a Happy Halloween!}

It is one of my favorite times of the year. Halloween! I love the set up of Halloween. Costumes, candy, fun, trick or treating, it's just a great time. And Halloween sparks the beginning of the Halloween season, at least for me it does. We hit Thanksgiving next, Christmas, and then my wedding anniversary, and then Valentines day, all back to back! I am going as Demeter/Mother Nature this year. What are your costume ideas? It is going to be a very hectic weekend for me, but it will be fun and I am looking forward to it. Tomorrow I am shooting the first in my pin-up series and I am very excited. I have an engagement shoot on Saturday at Longwood Gardens that I am definitely looking forward to, and Sunday is trick or treating day! I want you all to have a safe and fun Halloween, and remember: don't eat all the candy in one night! Till next time.

{Wedding: Kathryn and Ken}

Today was perfect weather for a gorgeous fall wedding!  I had the lovely opportunity of photographing the wedding of Kathryn and Ken at the Frog Hollow Golf Club today, and I just couldn't wait to post some previews.  The wedding was a very intimate affair, with close family and friends surrounding the bride and groom.  This was actually the first wedding where I went from photographer to guest.  I haven't been to a wedding as a guest in YEARS!  So it was a nice change of pace.  Although, about five minutes in sitting down as a "guest", I couldn't resist any longer and had to get my camera again.  I LOVE when I shoot a wedding and the couple is just as outgoing and spunky as I am.  It definitely makes for some amazing and fun portraits.  And I love nothing more than a couple that can have a good time!  So here are some previews:

"All you need is love."
John Lennon & Paul McCartney

And prepare for the most epic wedding picture EVER!

Thank you again Kathryn and Ken for allowing me to not only photograph your wedding, but to have me as a guest also.  I wish you two many years of happiness and fun.  Well to be honest, I already think you have the happy and fun part covered!

{New Projects}

As much as I love photographing weddings, I still love other sorts of photography, and from time to time, I have an idea spark in my head that I need to get out.  One of my upcoming projects, will be Rock the Frock.  Basically, it is a Rock the Dress session but for the male.  I've been talking to friends and clients, and a lot of guys feel left out.  So boys, here's to you!

Another project that I am very excited to start on is one of my very favorite obsessions.  If you don't know by now, I am a huge vintage lover.  Anything from the 1920's-1950's I love and adore.  So it's only natural that I love pin-ups!  And that is what my next project is...Swinging Betties Pin-ups!  Yay!  I am so happy to be branching out into this, and I have sessions scheduled for as early as next week.  If all goes well, then this will be another awesome package that I am offering.  So keep an eye out for Swinging Betties Pin-ups. (logo has yet to be worked on because I am so indecisive at times!)

In other news, I do have a wedding tomorrow!  And luckily it is going to be 66 degrees. Perfect fall weather.  When I went out today, I finally noticed the colors of the leaves and the sky was extra blue.  Unfortunately I did not have my camera with me, so I was not able to capture all that I saw. I know, I know, a photographer that doesn't have their camera? Blasphemy!  But...I did get a really nice sunset shot behind the trees.  So until next time, I leave you with this...

{Ok Go = AWESOME}

I found this from the lovely folks over at Atomic Pet Portraits.  Let me tell you, I do few pet portraits, and it is a lot of work.  It takes a lot of time and patience!  These folks are awesome!  As for the video, Ok Go is an awesome band, with some very inventive videos.  This video was shot in one take with rescue dogs.  This is epic!

{Maternity Session: Katie}

Yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing Katie and Rey's maternity session.  Katie is just entering her 36th week of pregnancy, so she is in the home stretch and the baby will be here soon!  I cannot wait to shoot their newborn session.  The baby's name is Serenity Rose, which is absolutely adorable. I am sure she will be just as beautiful as a rose when she is born.

{50th Wedding Anniversary: John and Peggy}

This Saturday was great.  The weather was gorgeous, and more than that, I was there to capture John and Peggy Renz' 50th wedding anniversary.  These two were married in 1960 and are still going on 50 years strong.  They are such a lovely couple with great kids, and adorably cute grandchildren.  Now, if you know me, you know that I love all things vintage.  So let's start off with the first thing that made me squeal in delight. Peggy, the bride, actually wore her wedding dress from 1960!  She looked FABULOUS! Secondly, the  1958 Rolls Royce that chauffeured them to the event, and last but not least, the Elvis impersonator.

And here are their adorable grandchildren

I LOVE classic cars!

And now onto the fun part!

Even babies adore Elvis

And guess who cried during these next picture?  *Raises hand*...Me
