Where the Magic Happens {Delaware Portrait & Wedding Photographer}

I read blogs. A lot.  I love it when I read a blog that hits home on something that relates directly to me. About two weeks I read a blog about a photographer, who started a studio in her dining room.  She converted it into her home office/studio.  Hung her work up on the walls. Made it comfortable, so that people can enjoy their time there. And she worked with what she had.  At the end, she said "It's not about what you don't have. It's about what you do have and how you use it".

I swear, you could have thought that this woman was writing from my own heart.  Because I too have converted my dining room into my studio/office. My work is hung on my alls. And I am pretty much the queen of making using what I do have to make things work.

Even though I don't have a big studio, a ton of props (which I must admit, I am building steadily), and a ton of equipment. I make do with what I have. Ask any of my clients. I make them feel welcome and at home.  I don't want them to feel like they are a number in a chain studio. When you come to my home, my studio, I want you to take off your shoes. Relax! Roll around on the floor with your kid so they can get comfortable. It's all about making it work.

So even though my studio is still a work in progress, I make it work.  Here is where the magic happens:

When you walk in, you are greeted with this huge family portrait of myself, Charlotte, and Wes. Although it needs to be updated, because Charlotte is walking now!

And here are my lovely frames from The Organic Bloom!

And here is a shot of the studio as a whole. Comfty, awesome chair. Computer to work at and display images.  Gorgeous vintage table, props over in the back.

It's little, but it's mine. And I love it!

Baby Noah {Delaware Baby Photographer}

What can I say about Noah. He is perhaps the most handsome baby boy ever. Gorgeous eyes, adorable cheeks and chubby baby rolls. I couldn't have asked for more!  Photographing him makes me want to have a baby boy. But then again, photographing any baby makes me want more! Check out some of the images from Noah's shoot below! Oh, and Zelda fans...yes, he is wearing a Link hat.

Baby Madison {Delaware Newborn & Baby Photographer}

Perfectly round face. Check. Perfectly round eyes. Check.  Adorable smile. Check.  The cutest little cheeks. Check.  Little miss Madison was just too adorable for words, and when I say that she was such a happy baby, she really was.  She was completely full of smiles and giggles, and I just wanted to keep her!  Here are some of the images from her session!

The Fresh Air Fund Summer Shoot with The Scott Family {Delaware Family Photographer}

A few weeks ago I was contacted by The Fresh Air Fund and asked if I would like to do a session with a host family and their visiting child.  I of course said yes! I knew about The Fresh Air Fund from when I lived in New York, and I have had friends who were a part of the program and who spent their summers outside of New York. Now admittedly, I think I will always be a city girl at heart, but I can attest to the fact that it does feel good to get out of the city and enjoy "fresh air".  Pretty much what Delaware did to me once I moved here 8 years ago.

So on a very hot and humid Sunday afternoon, we headed out to the park to capture some fun in the sun.  Between the shots, we spent most of our time in the shade! Brad, Michelle, David, Allison, and Erin it was so great meeting you. And Jeremy, I hope you had an amazing time on your vacation!

Here are some of the images of that day!

Baby Emma {Delaware Newborn & Baby Photographer}

Little miss Emma makes me want to have another baby, RIGHT NOW!  I miss the days of Charlotte being little and tiny, and just letting me snuggle her. Thankfully Emma was there to give me my baby fix! She was my last session before we moved into our house, and my first every session in my (still being put together) studio!

Seriously, I love photographing babies.  Dare I say it, I love it more than weddings!

I Heart Faces Photo Challenge-Enjoying Life {Delaware Portrait Photographer}

I have not written since Fathers Day. But since then, we have become homeowners!!! (I will eventually get to posting pictures of our place). My birthday (June 24th) passed, and Charlotte has started walking!!!  I know I have been bad with updating the blog, but I think I have had good reason. A lot has been going on!

Any who, you know I love me some photo challenges! This one comes from I Heart Faces, and the theme is: Enjoying Life.  I like to think that we enjoy life every single day!

This image has got to be one of my favorites.  Charlotte playing outside in her little tee pee. Laughing and screaming, and crawling around.  Babies have no stress, no worries. They just live life, love it, and smile.
