Family Session: The Vassallo Family

This weekend was a double header for family sessions, but at least the session I shot on Sunday was not nearly as cold as Saturday!  The weather was actually pretty nice considering we are hitting the end of November.  So on Sunday I photographed the Vassallo Family down at Battery Park.  They are originally from California, and are now living here in Delaware.  The move from California to Delaware also known as "DelaWHERE? " was a big one, all of their family is back in California. So these pictures are going to be sent back to the relatives.

So Nathaniel (the dad), Renee (the mom) and Noah (the adorable son) were a blast to work with, and troopers for braving the cold. Noah and Wes (my husband/assistant) had a blast running around the park.  Here are a few of my favorites:

{Family Session: The Bailey Family}

Today I ventured out to Brandywine Park in Wilmington, DE to photograph the Bailey family. Now although it was cold beyond belief, we all stuck it out and had a great time despite the weather.  Melissa (the mom), Andrew and Vanessa (the kids) were so fun to work with, and for putting up with the cold near the river, get a gold star in my book! Here are a few preview pictures of their session:

I have another family session scheduled for tomorrow, and then I believe that should be it with outside shoots!  It is cold! Time to move everything in doors.
OH! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  My mothers birthday is the day before Thanksgiving, so the family was at her house for two days in a row. We had a great time, and the food?  DELICIOUS!  I can't get over how awesome my mom cooks. And I finally learned the secret to her macaroni and cheese. My version of the mac and cheese is pretty good, but hers, nothing compares!

Have a great weekend everyone!

{Family Shoot: The Lewellen Family}

I don't think I can say it enough, but I seriously love what I do.  Being able to photograph weddings, babies, families, is truly an honor.  On Friday 11-12-10 I headed to New Jersey to photograph the Lewellen family for their family fall portrait session.  Laura (the mom), Walt (the dad), Marisa and Alisa (the daughters) we all great and so much fun to finally meet.  And one of the awesome things about it is that Marisa and I share the same name, with the same spelling.  It is almost impossible for me to find someone who spells their name the way I do.  But the girls were absolutely adorable and natural in front of the camera, I had a great time with them!  Here are a few of my favorites from the day.

Now, can you believe that we are already half way through November!  It really does seem like time is flying. Just yesterday it was the end of summer, and now we are so close to winter!  The days are getting shorter-which really throws me off, I love long sunny days. But hey! It is not too late to still schedule a fall family portrait session, engagement, maternity or children's session. The weather is still perfect for outdoor locations. And the gorgeous fall backdrop...AMAZING!

Contact me today- MarisaTaylorPhotography@gmail.com to schedule your session. Right now, the rates are half off-only $75 for up to a 2 hour session with edited images!  Definitely a steal!

{Baby Session: Elsa Marie}

I love babies.  I don't if I have said it enough, but I absolutely adore little ones.  They are so little, and cute, and even at one month or one years old, they have their own amazing little personalities.  On Thursday I had the pleasure of photographing the beautiful Elsa Marie, daughter to Shasta and Fred, whose maternity session I did back at the end of September.  It was right before Elsa was due to be born.  I was sort of hoping for Shasta to go into labor during the photo shoot, so I could have an epic story to tell. I mean seriously, photographing a maternity session, mom goes into labor, we all rush to the hospital, beautiful baby is born!  That is an amazing story.  Alas, little Elsa decided to wait until October 4 to make her appearance into the world.  And on November 4, I was able to see her again, and photograph her baby session.

One thing about babies, they work on their own time!  Keep that in mind parents.  No matter how well fed they are, how warm they are, or even if they are sleeping before the session,  if they are not happy, no photos are getting done!  Once we learned the secret to Elsa's happiness during the shoot, it was smooth sailing from there!  Have a look:

“A baby will make love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, bankroll smaller, home happier, clothes shabbier, the past forgotten, and the future worth living for"

{Engagement Session: Amy and Matt}

This Saturday was a great day for an engagement shoot! The weather was perfect, the sun wasn't too bright, and the leaves were all gorgeous. Amy, Matt, and myself headed to Longwood Gardens for their session on that lovely day. Now just a few weeks prior, I did another engagement session there, and the flowers were all lush and beautiful and gorgeous. When we arrived there on Saturday, there were close to no flowers!!! Well obviously they were out of season, but we still made the best of it, and the scenery was still gorgeous. Amy and Matt are getting married in April, and I cannot wait to shoot their wedding! They are such a fun and awesome couple. And according to Matt, the engagement session was "quick, fun, and painless" just the way he likes it, so one point for me for making the groom happy! Here are a few of my favorites!

And wow! I can't believe we are in November already. 23 more days till Thanksgiving, and then Christmas!!! I might actually decorate our house this year. Till next time!!!
