My sweet darling

I can't help it, my daughter is the sweetest thing ever.  Being a mother has showed me that love is truly limitless. I cannot believe how much love I have for her, and for my husband for helping in bringing her into this world.  It's like a constant overfilling and pouring out of love, it's just absolutely amazing!  Everything that she does is just wonderful. Ok, well except the spit up, and being peed and pooped on, and having food spit back on me. But even with all of that, she is still an amazing little girl.

What's even more amazing is that at just under 6 months, she now recognizes the camera and tries to get away. Or she will humor me with just a few brief moments of interaction, then she is gone into her own little world. And nothing I do can get her attention again.  But she is the daughter of a photographer after all. I just find it so funny how much personality babies have!

{Baby Portrait-Little Miss Chloe} Delaware Newborn & Baby Photography

It has been a while since I have photographed an adorable little baby other than my own.  And frankly at 5 and a half months, my daughter is pretty tired of seeing me setting up the backdrops and breaking out the camera.  She tries to escape by any means possible.  Even if her only ability is rolling, she will do it.

But luckily, she was spared for one day when I had little Chloe in to photograph her.  She is just so cute and tiny and little.  Two months old and cooing, and gosh, I remember those days!  The cutest thing was laying her in the fur, apparently she liked it, as she kept making this adorable baby faces to me!  But enough chit chat, here are some of her beautiful pictures.

The Little Things

You've seen me go on and on about how important photographs are for you and your family.  I'm really trying not to be a big sap, but I just can't express just how important they are.  My daughter is just over 5 months, no longer is she that tiny, quiet little being we brought home from the hospital.  Now she is vocal, climbing over things, crawling (backwards mind you, but whatever gets the job over), rolling over, grabbing for things, and screaming and squealing in excitement.  She has obviously outgrown all of her newborn clothes, and it breaks my heart to pack them up and get her bigger clothes out.

The moral of the story is appreciate the little things.  I was told during my whole pregnancy that they grow up so fast. And by God, do they!

Happy New Year!

I hope all of you had a fabulous New Year. We had a great time ringing in 2012 dressed to the nines in our 1920's attire (pictures of that to come soon).

I have a lot in store or 2012, and am looking forward to it. I am so excited for my business and everything else. I am definitely looking forward to some amazing newborn and portrait sessions, more birthing sessions, and of course weddings! I have so many new products for you including albums, gorgeous canvas and gallery wraps, as well as frames from The Organic Bloom (I have my daughters picture framed within an Organic Bloom frame, and I love it!).

The first thing that I have in store for my current and fabulous clients is my Winter Mini-session event. 30 minutes at a location that you choose, 5 final images, $100. And.....you will receive an automatic $30 gift credit good towards the purchase of prints/frames when you purchase 2 or more prints!

 

And my daughter Charlotte, whom is now the poster child for everything pretty much, would like to wish you a Happy New Year, and an awesome 2012!

A New Focus

It's not secret that I love photographing babies and kids.  It's just one of those things that come natural to me.  I have always been the "baby whisperer".  I think it comes from having a big family with a bunch of nieces and nephews.  After having my daughter, it totally made me realize how important it really is to have memories of your little one, while they are still little.  My daughter will be 4 months old on Christmas Eve, and it seems like the time has flew by!  I mean, what happened to that quite little baby who would look up at me, and then go back to sleep?  She is now a wriggling, giggling, arm flailing little girl that has a magical light in her eyes, and who loves to squeal...loudly.

Now, as the child of a photographer, you can bet that my daughter has her own dedicated folder on the computer, full of images of her. And on my cellphone, and Ipad.  I think I have hit over 1,000 images of her. A bit much..maybe, but i'm a new mom.  Yesterday, after she was fed and happy, I was finally able to get her to actually "pose" for me, and I tell you what, her images took my breath away. Of course I am bias because it is my baby after all.  But I feel that EVERY parent should have great images of their little one to cherish, always.  They grow up in a blink of an eye.

So for 2012, I am going to focus on portraits more.  Don't worry, I am still shooting weddings!  But I am only accepting a limited number of weddings for 2012, so that I can spend time with my daughter and family during her first year of life, which is going to be amazing.  And I just want to share the love that I have with other families and parents.

Year in Review: Portraits

WOW! I cannot believe 2011 is almost over. We are two weeks down till Christmas, and then New Years is right around the corner.  It just seems like yesterday I celebrated New Years, then found out I was pregnant with my darling daughter a week later.  This year has gone by in a blur, and sometimes it seems like it has went so slow!  I am forever grateful for my clients, who have come to me and trusted me with capturing images of their families and special moments.  Here are my favorite portrait images from 2011. I hope that 2012 is even more amazing for my business, clients, and fans.
