Love, Mom: The Euston Ladies {Delaware Portrait and Family Photographer}

A few weeks ago I had a couple of sessions called Love, Mom sessions. These were sessions for moms and grandmothers to get some great images of themselves with their families.  This session was with Tori, her adorable daughter Morgan, and her mother Kathe. You might remember Morgan from a few posts back when I photographer her and her new baby brother.  Here are some of their images!

Love Mom: The Lewellens {Delaware Family Portrait Photographer}

Ok, so the last few weeks have been extremely busy. So please forgive me for posting my sessions out of order, and for my general lack of posting period!  Between planning, organizing, and shooting my styled wedding shoot, sessions, my daughter Charlotte, Mothers Day, and buying a house, I have been running around like a chicken with my head cut off. I am surprised that I am actually managing it so well. Well, well being a relative term! 

But enough babble about me.  Here are a couple of my favorites from my Love, Mom session with Laura, Marisa, and Alissa.  I adore them! I have been photographing their family for three years now.  We had a bunch of fun during their session, as Alissa is always fun and bubbly and full of energy.  So without further ado:

Relationships.  That's what I am to build with all my clients.  I want to be there as their family grows from just two, to three to four, and however many more. Ha! I rhymed there.  But seriously, I love building long lasting relationships with my clients. It's a huge part of my business, and why I do what I do. And nothing makes me happier when I can grow with my clients.

I was so glad to have Maria back in with Steve, Derrick, and Graham.  I photographed their wedding in January of 2011 (I was about 11 weeks pregnant! apparently you could tell I was dealing with the morning sickness.). And then I did Maria's maternity session just a few months ago.  Now with the arrival of little Graham, I had them in for their first family session.  And let me tell you something, I actually was able to photograph MY FIRST SLEEPING NEWBORN!  If you have been following me, you know that almost every newborn I have ever photographed has not been asleep! And if they look asleep in their images, they really are not.  So here are some fantastic images from their session.

My Family...in FRONT of the camera! {Delaware Family Photographer}

So you know how I am always going on about how important it is to capture the memories of your family, and how special it is to have a session. Well...today my own family had their experience to get in front of my camera.  It was quite interesting. Dealing with one teenager, and three preteens is quite an experience. Especially when they are siblings and at that age where the mere thought of being near their sibling.  Cue the headache starting.

In the end, it was fun. My mother now has pictures of her grandchildren, and pictures of her WITH her grandchildren. I type WITH in capitals because my mother used to be the type that would literally destroy you for taking her picture. So yay for me for holding the power to make her want to be in the picture!  Cue the happy dance.

It was fun, it was an experience.  We now have something other than the school portraits!  Now yesterday, I attempted to do my own family portrait with my husband and daughter.  Let me tell you, it is a lot harder to photograph yourself and your family than photographing anyone else. Especially when you have a very active 7 month old who has more interest in the wireless remote and not smiling. But that leads to something awesome...

Year in Review: Portraits

WOW! I cannot believe 2011 is almost over. We are two weeks down till Christmas, and then New Years is right around the corner.  It just seems like yesterday I celebrated New Years, then found out I was pregnant with my darling daughter a week later.  This year has gone by in a blur, and sometimes it seems like it has went so slow!  I am forever grateful for my clients, who have come to me and trusted me with capturing images of their families and special moments.  Here are my favorite portrait images from 2011. I hope that 2012 is even more amazing for my business, clients, and fans.
