Love, Mom campaign 2014! {Delaware Lifestyle Portrait Photographer}

Love, Mom 2014

The perfect Mothers Day gift for yourself & the moms in your life

It has been a great success the past 2 years that I have running this, and I am plan on going into it's third year strong!  If this is the first time you have heard of my Love, Mom campaign, you might be asking yourself, just what is it?

Love, Mom is a campaign to have mothers and their loved ones photographed. Plain and simple. I know first hand as a mom how busy life can get, and how fast kids grow up. Before you know it, they aren't the little chubby faced babies that once followed you around, and you find yourself wondering where the time went.  I have priced special sessions so that Moms can come in and have some fantastic images of just themselves, or themselves, their kids, or their spouses.

This year, I am doing things a bit differently! I am offering two types of Love, Mom sessions.  In-studio sessions that will take place with timed slots during Friday April 18th to Saturday April 19th. I am also offering a full session gift certificate that you can gift to the mom in your life and use to set up your own, personal session any time.

Sounds great, right!  Well, head on over to: http://marisataylorphotography.bigcartel.com/ To purchase your time slots for the weekend specially priced Love, Mom sessions, as well as the Love, Mom gift certificates.

Because these Love, Mom sessions have been so popular, I have to put a limit on how many I am offering, as well as the gift certificate specials I am offering.  There will only be 8 sessions per day for the 2 weekend sessions (16 sessions total), and I am only offering 10 of the Love, Mom gift certificates.  Why? Because with the Love, Mom weekend sessions, you receive a $50 gift credit to use towards purchasing prints and products! And with the Love, Mom full session gift certificate, you will receive an $100 gift credit to use!

In-studio sessions must be booked and paid for in full by April 14, 2014.  Gift certificates must be paid for in full at time of booking.  Gift certificates will be available until May 1, 2014 or until the 10 special gift certificates are purchased, which ever comes first.

Once your session is done, be sure to place your print & canvas orders by April 28th to have in time for Mothers Day.

You can take a look at my Client & Session Guide to check out the print prices and the products I offer, as well as helpful hints for getting ready for your session

Feel free to spread the word, and if you have any questions at all, shoot them on over to MarisaTaylorPhotography@Gmail.com

Enjoy your weekend!

It's almost Valentines Day! Still looking for a gift! {Delaware Family, Wedding, & Fashion Photographer}

The day of love is right around the corner. That's right, Valentines Day!  This year, I didn't do a special since I was so busy and wanted to take a breather, but I do have some good news. I have gift certificates available! They are big and pretty and nice! And you can purchase them online, and I can hand deliver them to you, or you can stop by and pick them up!

What will you get with the gift certificate, the basic is the session fee, which is valued at $275 and two 8x10" prints included!  Love all around!  You can use this session for a newborn, baby, child, family, Love/Engagement/Couples Session or even a Boudoir/Glam/Fashion session!

I will be available to drop off and pick up gift certificates today, tomorrow, as well as Valentines Day! Although, I will not wear a big heart and do a song and dance if you plan on having it delivered that way.

Happy Valentines Day! I had to use an old image of Charlotte back from when she was about 1 and a half, and when she was cooperative for the camera!

Happy Anniversary...

Today is my wedding anniversary! Well technically we have two wedding anniversaries. We are a bit unconventional, and typically stray off the beaten bath. So when we first got "married", it was in the form of a handfasting.  That was back in 2009.  Then we legally got married, and by legally I mean obtaining a marriage license on February 15, 2013. Funny story about that actually.

On Valentines Day last year, Wes went into work, and while there he was having severe chest pain.  His job called the ambulance, and they rushed him to the hospital. While there, he called me, and the first things out of his mouth were "Don't freak out, I am in the hospital".  Needless to say, I did freak out.  Of course I would freak out!  So we spent Valentines Day in the hospital together, and the next day, we decided to go to the court house to get married. And that is our official wedding story.

It's been close to 10 years that we have been together. We have had our ups and downs, our struggles and amazing moments.  There were people that thought we wouldn't make it, there were people hoping that we wouldn't make it.  From our love, we created an amazing child, and everyday her giggling and shrieks of excitement make everything better.

He makes me a better person, I make him a better person. We push each other, because we know that we can achieve more. We are each others biggest supporters.  He is the reason why Marisa Taylor Photography started. He believed in me so much, even when I thought it was crazy to jump into a business full time, it was he who talked me through.

I still get butterflies when he walks in the room. He still grabs me and swings me around like when we first started dating. We made a vow to each other to always have fun, to always love, to always be happy. And even though we have moments where the happiness seems not to be there, we find our way back to it.

So happy anniversary to my love, my rock, my best friend, my husband. Wesley, I love you more than you will ever know.  10 years together, here's to many, many more awesome years.

Before you were mommy....

Yay more snow! Not really. But since I am snowed in today, since my husband took the car, I decided to get a few business related matters done.  And as I became distracted on Facebook, and scrolling through my newsfeed, I came across this article that a friend posted.  And of course, after reading it, I cried. Like a baby.

Before you were mommy, before you were daddy, you were theirs.

The Little Things

What makes me happy?  Almost everything.  I am a very simple person to please, and I suppose that is why I am almost always happy.  Sure I have my down days, but all it takes is something simple and my frown gets turned upside down!

For instance, my birthday.  I love receiving balloons and cake.  I suppose I am a 5 year old trapped in a 25 year old's body, but balloons make me happy.  This past birthday (June 24), my husband set it up so that at the time of my birth (1:32a.m.) at our weekly Denny's getup with our friends, he walked in with a cake that had Disney princesses and balloons for me.  I was VERY surprised, but very, very happy.  There was also a huge card signed by the "coffee crew" as we call ourselves.  The best thing?  When you open the card, it plays the chicken dance...which is another thing that I love.

I also love when my husband does little sweet things.  Like making me grilled cheese sandwiches (which have been a staple of my pregnancy diet) or coming home with my favorite candy.  On July 4th, we went to see the fireworks with friends.  We walked a few blocks away from our friends house to a field, and of course after a few minutes of standing, I had to squat, since I didn't bring the blanket.  He walked back to the car (and missed the first few fireworks) to get the blankets for me so I can lay down in the grass.  We then watched the fireworks as I laid across his lap.

Pictures also make me happy...duh.  I am a photographer, that is expected.  But I find it amazing that before I became a full time professional photographer, I photographed everything.  Every outing, every trip, basically anytime I left the house, I had my camera.   Now, I take my camera, but I barely photograph anything.  I am doing a horrible job at documenting my life, and I definitely have to remedy that.  Especially being that we have a baby on the way!

So I promise to myself, that I will start photographing the little things again, the little things that make me happy.

{Love}

I admit it, I am a sucker for love.  Not that romantic comedy kind of love, which is quite funny.  But the type of love where you can't imagine how your life can go on without that person.  The love that a couple has on their wedding day, the love that a mom has when she first sees her newborn child, a love that a kid has for their dog.  Love is amazing in so many ways.  To live a life without love is to live a life without happiness.  It's heart wrenching to know that there are people in life who will never know what it is to be love or to love someone in any capacity.  But one cannot focus on the sadness, for love is all around and is so wonderful and amazing that we should relish in it each and every day.

When my husband leaves for work, I always tell him I love him. Even if I am in a deep sleep, I will somehow wake up to tell him that I love him.  When he is at work, I always send at least one email telling him I love him. And before we go to sleep it's the same thing.

I am a strong believer that you should never go to bed angry, so tel those in your life that you love them every day, all day long.
