It's almost Fall! {Delaware Lifestyle Portrait Photographer}

It's September! Where did the summer go. It seems like it just started, and now it's gone. But with fall comes some great things. Pumpkin flavored everything, boots, sweaters, playing in the leaves. And hot chocolate!  Although I will miss summer, even though techincally summer is officially not over yet, fall means the LONGEST time of the year for me.

Quite a lot has happened over the past couple of weeks.  For one, my sweet baby Charlotte turned one on August 24th. She is now a walking, somewhat talking toddler. She loves to climb over things, get into everything, and express herself.  Now with her I definitely can't believe how fast the time has gone by!

Besides that, I upgraded my camera! Rewarded myself with a gorgeous new camera bag, and am working on making my studio even more gorgeous! I finally get to paint the walls soon! Well first, I have to take down the wall paper...but either way, it's almost ready!

The Birth of Baby Declan {Delaware Birth Photographer-Marisa Taylor Photography}

It was exactly 1:36 a.m. when I received the phone call.  Charlotte had just went down to sleep, since I let her stay up late for her birthday, and I was heading to bed myself. Beth was on the other end, she was in labor and on her way to The Birth Center.  I may have shrieked into the phone from excitement, I can't remember.  But I packed up my gear, and some 5 hour energy, and headed over to the birth center.

When I got there, Beth was progressing nicely.  I wasn't even there for more than 10 minutes before she was moved from the bed to the bath tub to deliver.  I thought I had a fast delivery, but Beth knocked it out of the water.  It was amazing to watch her bring a new life into this world. With the support of Mike and her daughter Maeve, it was a very calm, serene moment.

Little Declan was born at 3:07 a.m. on August 25th 2012.  Happy and healthy, all ten fingers and toes.  I am honored to have been there to capture his very first moments in this world.  It was amazing and magical, and while making the video that you are about to see below. I cried.

I showed it to Beth first last night, and she loved it.  And her reply, made me cry...again. Yes, I am a very emotional person. This is what she had to say:

"Are you freaking serious. That is the most beautiful amazing thing I have ever laid my eyes on. I'm a blubbering idiot over here. The song the story you are amazing so so so much talent! Words can not even describe how thankful I am for you and your talent! Wow"

Victoria's Newborn Session {Delaware Newborn & Baby Photographer}

Oh how I love newborns. So tiny, and precious. Warm, and fuzzy, and they smell like baby lotion. With Charlotte being one now, I definitely need my baby fix. So when little miss Victoria came to the studio, I was in heaven. She was absolutely perfect. Slept, let me pose her, and just stayed adorable. She even slept while her mother and I randomly chatted about random things.  And snuggle time, I snuggle with all the babies that I photograph. It's our bonding time. And I loved it!  I need more babies in my life. But before I go off on how much I love babies, here are some of the images from her session. Be ready to fall in love.

Welcome to the world, Declan! (Delaware Birth Photographer}

Early Saturday morning, at about 1:30 a.m., I received a call from one of my clients Beth Parker. She was in labor, and heading to the birth center to deliver.  To say I was excited was an understatement. And even though my daughters birthday party was to start at 3p.m. that day, I happily gathered my gear together, some snacks, kissed my sleeping daughter and husband and headed out the door to capture the birth.

It was amazing. I love watching mothers do what we have done for centuries. Bring a new life into this world. And to be honest, Beth was the fastest delivery I have ever experienced!

My sweet baby, Charlotte Adventure, is 1 today

I've said it before, and I will say it again. Time flies. Babies grow up entirely too fast. And it seems like I was pregnant just yesterday.  I look at my daughter (who is sprawled out on my bed right now), and can't believe that she is one today. Well technically, 5:17 p.m. is when she entered this world.

She is a walking (started walking in July), somewhat talking, toddler now.  She climbs over things, likes to do somersaults (maybe another Gabby Douglas on our hands?), loves to dance and sing, is very vocal about what she wants, and loves to give hugs.  Seriously, the cutest thing in the world is when she walks up to me with her arms outstretched, gives me a hug and pats me on the back.

As I write this, I am about to tear up. Now, I am an emotional person to begin with, and I cry at pretty much anything. But even though it has only been a year, my little baby has grown up so fast.  I still miss the days when she was just a tiny newborn, that loved to snuggle. I remember her first smile, her first coo, the first time I left her so that my husband and I can have a date night (I was a WRECK that night!!!).  Everyday she just amazes me with what she does. It is mindblowing how much I can love one little person so much from the first moment that I saw them.

So happy birthday sweet, sweet Charlotte Adventure.  I hope we are doing an o.k. job being your parents. And may your life be filled with many adventures ahead of you.
