{Wedding: Daniel and Brad}

Yesterday was Daniel and Brad's wedding.  In one word to sum it up...amazing.  It was truly amazing to see their family and friends gathered to support them and love them as much as they do.  On Wednesday, Daniel and Brad went to Washington, D.C. and were legally married with their parents and closest friends present.  Yesterday was their ceremony and wedding reception.  Delaware still does not recognize same-sex marriages, which is why they went to D.C. Nonetheless, their wedding was absolutely magical.  Held in the Wilmington Grand Opera house, it was definitely a theatrical event.  It was so much fun.  I don't think I have ever laughed nor cried as much as I did at their wedding.

When I got home, I was beat from having so much fun shooting their wedding.  I truly, truly felt like part of the family.  Daniel's parents are hilarious, and really sweet, as are Brad's parents.  Also, the "photobooth" was a success!  Apparently everyone loved it, including the fake mustaches that I made as props.  I am so glad everyone enjoyed it.

Daniel and Brad, thank you so much for allowing me the opportunity to share your beautiful wedding with you.  Both of you are two of the sweetest souls I have ever met, and to be there to witness your love, I cannot even begin to tell you how thankful I am that you entrusted me with your wedding day.

Now, one of the best parts of the event was the photobooth. I absolutely love the pictures that came from that, but alas, I will have to post them later.  It's Sunday, the weather is gorgeous, and my husband and I are going for pizza and a day at the park (before the weather gets too cold).  Till next time!

{Before the Wedding}

Tomorrow, I have the pleasure of photographing Danny and Brad's wedding. Their wedding is going to be held at the Grand Opera House, in Wilmington, DE. I cannot even begin to explain how excited I am about this. I love Danny and Brad because they are two of the nicest, compassionate people that I have ever met. The fact that they trust me to photograph their wedding is heart warming, and also, they have confidence in me to let loose with my creativeness, and I am sure I am going to capture some amazing images of their day.

But before the wedding, I would like to say something. I have always believed that love knows no boundaries. It does not matter what sex, religion, or race you are. Two people in love, are two people in love. It baffles me that there are people out there who believe that they are in the right to dictate how love and marriage should be.

When I became a photographer, more specifically, a wedding photographer, I did it because I genuinely love seeing two people in love. I love everything having to do with a wedding, but more than that, the energy shared between two people in love on that day is unmeasurable. That is why I do what I do.

I am proud to say that I do not judge people, and believe that everyone should have the right to love who they wish. Which is why I have joined, WhiteKnot.org. This is a website that supports marriage equality. I am not asking any one to change their beliefs, but think about how you would feel if you couldn't be with the person you loved, because other people did not support it?

{Vendor Shoot}

I love working with other vendors.  It takes a lot of amazing and great people to pull together a wedding.  And I definitely do appreciate the hard work and artistry that goes into the jobs that different vendors do.  This past Friday I had the pleasure of working with The Brossman Center in Philadelphia for a vendor photoshoot.  The vendors there were Kremp Florists, and Married 2 Events.  They set up food and flower arrangements, just as if it were a wedding, and I was there to photograph them.  After, we were able to sample the delicious food!

{A Lovely Saturday}

Fall is among us! I can definitely tell by the drastic weather change.  Today was a relaxing day today.  My sister in law, my husband, my stepson and I had lunch at the new Sonic in our area. We have been waiting for a Sonic since forever!  Up until yesterday, the closest one available was just over an hour away!  After lunch we did some driving, and then relaxed in the back yard.  We passed by a sunflower field today, and I could not resist pulling over and taking some photos.  Sunflowers are gorgeous!  These are just baby sunflowers, they are not fully grown yet, but they are still pretty. I would love to do a shoot in a field of sunflowers before it gets too cold.  Here's to wishing!  So here are pretty sunflower pictures!





After the trip to the sunflower field, we went back and relaxed.  So now I want to show you my sister in laws "children".  Her two Dachshunds, Jasmine and Glory.  These two are my "nieces" and I love them to death, but they are HARD to photograph!  Jasmine is the older, and usually the calmer one.  Glory, we call her the crazy one.  Either way, here they are:















I am very excited about next week. Next Saturday, I am shooting the wedding of Daniel and Brad at the Wilmington Grand Opera House in Delaware.  About two weeks ago I went to the location with Daniel to take a walk through, and let me tell you, it is breathtaking!  The decor is jaw dropping, and there are so many places to take some really creative pictures. I am totally looking forward to it! And thankfully, Daniel and Brad are the type of couple that I love photographing. They are fun, outgoing, and trust me completely with the set up of their photos, so I get to let my creative mind let loose!

{Just Because Session-Dan & Cara}

Today was a great day, more of a double whammy.  First I had a vendor shoot at The Brossman Center, and photographed gorgeous center pieces and delicious food.  Then I had a "just because" shoot with Dan & Cara.  I actually did Cara's "Rock the Dress" session, so this was another fun shoot together, but this time with her husband Dan.  We went back to where they were married in June, the Judge Morris Estate in Newark, DE and did their session there.  Cara and Dan are both writers, gamers, and just fun in general, so we went with a theme that suited both of them well.  They had a little picnic with some wine, their gaming dice, and of course their favorite books.

It was great shooting Dan & Cara, and I had a blast with them.  There was much laughter, and talk of nerdy stuff.  I could definitely feel the love between the two of them, they are so sweet together!  And I know that you will feel it through the pictures also.

We were given: Two hands to hold. To legs to walk. Two eyes to see. Two ears to listen. But why only one heart?
Because the other was given to someone else. For us to find.
