{Wedding Cake Wednesday}

I am going to be starting a new weekly post about wedding cakes. Hence, Wedding Cake Wednesday!  I am more than just a photographer, I am a wedding junkie! If you don't know by now, I love EVERYTHING having to do with a wedding.  There was a time, when I was younger, when I wanted to be a wedding planner, wedding dress designer, wedding photographer, and wedding cake maker. I wanted to do it all! But trust me, it is not easy being a superwoman.  I had my take at designing, which is why I love sewing.  I even had my take a wedding cakes. And let me tell you, A LOT of work goes into it.  The artistic skill and imagination is huge. And the dedication...yes, lots of dedication goes into it.

{2010 Fall Giveaway!}

Happy Labor Day everyone! The weather here is absolutely beautiful, and my husband and I are about to go out and enjoy the end of summer bbq with our friends.  But, before I go, I wanted to share some exciting news with you!

I love seeing two people in utter and complete happiness and love.  I love seeing raw emotion between a couple.  The laughter between two people that love each other is something that definitely can be felt by others.  And this is what inspired me to do what I am about to tell you.

I am having a Fall Giveaway!!! Giveaway, you say?  Yes, a giveaway!  I'm sure you are asking, "Well, what is this giveaway you speak of?"  Well, I am going to tell you. The summer is at its' end, and the fall is about to begin.  The leaves are about to start changing colors, the weather is going to get a lot cooler, and the fashions will definitely change.  Let's bring out the sweaters and cute jackets.  So to mark this change, I am having giveaway!

The prize for this giveaway is 1 free engagement or "just because" session with me.  You can be engaged, married,or in a relationship (hence the just because).  The session will take place at a location of your choosing,  for one hour.  In the end, you will receive a DVD with your images, one framed 8"x10" print, and your story posted here.

{Maryland Renaissance Fair-Labor Day Weekend}

Ok, so if you haven't already figured out, I am quite an eccentric person.  I have all sorts of hobbies ranging from karaoke to sewing, and everything in between.  One of my biggest hobbies, or as my husband calls it, obsessions is the Maryland Renaissance Fair.  This weekend, we went down to Maryland for the Labor Day invasion for the Clan M'Crack.  The M'Crack clan is an eccentric group, more of a family of ren fair goers, and they are just a blast to hang out with.  This weekend, I was officially pinned as Season M'Crack.  Of course while there, I took hundreds of pictures, but there are some of my favorites.  I just couldn't get over how many adorable babies were there!



























So for now, two weeks off for the ren fair, I definitely need the break!  Then back to business with two weddings on 9/18 and 9/25.  The wedding on the 25th is going to actually be at the renaissance fair, which I am looking forward to. It is going to be great to photograph a wedding that is at one of my favorite places on earth, besides Disney!  And this is exactly why I love what I do.  I get to meet creative, and eccentric people, such as myself, and have lots of fun doing what I love.

{Goodbye Summer!}

This weekend will mark the end of the summer. Oh, how it has gone by so fast! I remember just a few months ago I was begging for summer to come, now it is going away! Spring and summer are my favorite months of the year. I was born in summer, so of course I love it. But spring and summer are the best time to do outside weddings, engagement shoots, and rock the dress sessions!

I hope everyone has a safe and fun Labor Day Weekend. I will be heading down to Maryland (in about 2 hours actually) to attend the Maryland Renaissance Fair (yes I love it that much). We are staying the whole weekend, and many of my "rennie" friends are going too! So it's basically a big ren fair family reunion.

When I get back, I do have lots of things in store. Fall engagement sessions, I can't wait for the colors! Also new vendor spotlights, and in 2011 a total new redesign to my site! Lots of stuff to look forward to!

And after the fall, winter will be here before you know it! So, I am offering an awesome winter special!



So if you know any couples having a winter wonderland wedding, send them my way!  Formals in the snow may be cold, but they will look AMAZING!

{Another Heartfelt Review!}

As a photographer, it is one thing for me to market myself, my brand and my photography.  Besides actually photographing the weddings, portraits, engagements, and session, the time that I spend with putting myself out there is literally a full time job.  But there is but so much that I can do, which is why the words of my past clients are worth so much to me.  A review from a past client (now friend) of mine is worth it's weight in gold, and I cherish everything that they say.  It makes me work harder to become better at what I do.  So that each person I work with can experience the happiness that my couples have felt when working with me.

Also, when hiring a wedding photographer.  You are doing much more than just having me come in to photograph your day.  You are trusting me with the most special day of your life.  That amount of trust is definitely not an easy thing to give.  Especially when you are anxious about the wedding as it unfolds, the last thing you want is the photographer messing up.  So to my most recent couple, Jessica and Kyle, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for trusting me with your special day, for allowing me to be there to share it with you, and for letting me partake in the joy and fun of your wedding.  It was an absolute pleasure to shoot, and your family made me feel like family. // Now last, but definitely not least. I have a special surprise for couples getting married in the winter...I am offering 20% off any wedding packages for any weddings that are taking place between December 1, 2010-March 31 2010.  Definitely a great deal!  I was married January 30, 2009, and oddly enough there was NO snow on the ground. In fact it was about 60 degrees. Oh! I almost forgot. I kind of went crazy making button boutinneires today. They are so fun and easy to make, and I can't get enough of them!  I NEED MORE BUTTONS!

{Flower Button Boutonniere}

Yesterday I was browsing the web for some fun DIY, crafty projects and came across the My DIY Wedding Day website.  They feature lots of tips on creating a DIY wedding with your own personal style.  Among the first page was their Flower Boutonniere tutorial, and I immediately fell in love.  These little boutonnieres are so awesome and easy to make!  The best part is that they reflect your personal style.  I'm big on DIY gifts, because each gift I make is made with love.  This is the perfect gift for a bride to give to her groom on their wedding day.  For mine, I used buttons that I had lying around, but you can flow free with creativity.  If he has a favorite sports team, try to find buttons in the coordinating colors,  you can also do the colors of your wedding day and whatnot. The possibilities are endless. And you can add as many "flowers" as you like.  For mine, I included 5.  So now I am on a mad dash to accumulate as many buttons in different shapes, sizes, and colors that I can possibly get my hands on to make more!  Can you imagine an entire bouquet made out of flowers?  Well, I may just take on that task.  Let me stop babbling and show you the awesome that is the flower button boutonniere!
