{Wedding: Maria and Steve}

Yay for winter weddings! I knew I had to get at least one this year, and although it was cold, it was well worth it. Maria and Steve are such an awesome couple, and I was so happy to be there for them.  Maria started getting ready at The Hotel Dupont, located in Wilmington.  Which I will say is absolutely gorgeous!  I think the best thing about that whole day is that they chose to do a "first look" session.  Maria came down to the lobby to surprise Steve, and you can immediately feel the magic and the love in the air.  It was constant smiles from then on!  And then the second best thing was the Steve kept doing faces from the movie "Zoolander".  If you don't know what I am talking about, look it up, it is absolutely hilarious!

So here are some previews of their wedding, more will be up soon!

Now, in the meantime, if you visit my main website, you will see that it is currently undergoing construction again.  The woes of being so creative is that I cannot settle for good or average, I need it to be great!  So I definitely need to have my website that makes me happy so that my clients can be happy. So it is still a work in progress. But in the meantime, you can always check out my updates by becoming a fan on Facebook!  http://www.facebook.com/marisataylorphotography

Till next time folks!

{Who's ready for spring?}

I know I am. Although I enjoy the winter, I could do with one week of it and be fine.  Yes, the snow is pretty and makes for some amazing pictures. But, I really do miss my nice and sunny warm days, picnics at the park, and the non freezing temperatures!  I especially miss doing sessions outside!  So much more creativity at hand!

And spring brings a lot of fun events for me. Besides weddings, engagements, maternity sessions and such I have some fun events to attend.  In March, I have the Alternative Bridal Expo, which is the first of it's kind, and is going to be pretty cool!  It's three amazing shows for one weekend.  So if you are the non traditional bride, and into non conventional things then check it out.   In May, I have the Steampunk Worlds Fair 2011 to attend.  If you are into Victorian, Steampunk, Dr. Who, Sci-Fi, etc.  I highly suggest you go, it is really fun!  I have been looking forward to this ALL YEAR!  Last year was great, and I got to meet Voltaire, who is amazing!

Then of course when the summer comes, I have the renaissance fair!!!  Yay!

But until then, I have to keep myself busy because it is too cold outside to go out and do anything fun.  So this winter, try to stay sane!

{Let it snow, Let is snow, Let it snow}

Or at least that is what the weatherman keeps saying.  We had snow both on Friday and Saturday morning.  I was so excited, thinking "Finally! I get to build my snowman!!!".  I woke up in the morning to see the snow coming down, quite heavy and fast I might add.  And then, to my sadness, just a few hours later, the streets were clear and the only thing that had a bit of snow on it was the tops of the parked cars.  Now admittedly, my favorite seasons are the spring and summer.  My birthday is in summer!  So naturally when it is cold, it gets a bit...bland for me.  I mean, if it's going to snow...then SNOW!  Living in New York has gotten me used to huge snow days, and still having to trudge to school in 3 feet of snow.

And besides, the artist in me is dying to do a set of shots outside in the snow!  So I am working on some ideas to bring that to life, and getting a few people to participate.  I hope it turns out the way I like!  As soon as everything gets together, then my vision will come to life!!! *cue evil laughter*

Oh! And my website is finally up!  Finally, released. yay!  http://www.MarisaTaylorPhotography.com

I'm still working on a few things such as the portrait pricing guide, since the wedding one is done, but it should come together smoothly

But can you seriously believe we are in 2011?  I graduated highschool 7 years ago! It feels so long ago.  And 7 years ago, I had just moved from NYC to Delaware (such a change!), and met my now husband (who we've been together pretty much since we met).  It seems like a blur.  Well 2011 is going to be great!  I am definitely looking forward to it as a business.  I am very excited for the engagement shoots and weddings I have booked.  Plus, all of my other fun activities like Steampunk Fair and Renaissance Fair!!!

So thats about it. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!!!

{Happy New Year}

I know I am a few days late, but better late than never.  Happy New Year!!!! I hope everyone had a blast this weekend, and brought in the new year with family, friends, and loved ones.  New Years eve was a great night for me and my husband, we spent it with friends and just had a great time.  Plus I got all dolled up, thanks to my best friend Megan, and pulled off a 1950's look that I was very proud of!

2011 is going to be a great year, I can tell already.  Weddings are booked, gearing up for scheduling engagement sessions, baby portraits, and more family portraits in the spring!  I want to thank all of you for your support in 2010, if it was not for you, I would not be where I am today!

My new website will be released very soon! It is complete, but I am having a few publishing issues.  Which makes me sad!   At one point I thought I was going to bang my head on my desk repeatedly, but I know that it's not my fault!!!  So I just have to wait for the hosting site to fix it on their half. But I can't wait to release it for you all :)  It has taken many weeks of craziness and anxiety and creativity, but it is done!

Let me know some of your resolutions!  I have never really been much of a resolution person myself.  I typically make goals and deadlines anyway, so waiting for a new year for me to start one seems a bit silly. But if I did make any resolution, it is for 2011 to be infinitely better than 2010!

Till next time!!! <3
